School News

•  Friday, February 13 and Monday, February 16 - As previously shared, we will have an E-Learning Day on Friday, February 13.

We have received a waiver from the state of Indiana for one of the days we missed due to weather, meaning that day does not need to be made up. Since we missed three instructional days because of the storm—and with winter weather still a possibility—we have also decided to designate Monday, February 16 as an additional E-Learning Day.

This plan allows us to keep Easter Monday available as a makeup day should we need it later in the year.

Please watch for E-Learning instructions from your child’s teacher. All assigned E-Learning work is required and must be completed and submitted, so we ask that families make this a priority over the long weekend.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for your continued support and flexibility.

•  Thank you for your generous donations during Catholic Schools Week.  Almost $600 was collected along with many, many boxes of items.  Truly heartwarming and appreciated.

•  Community Night - We are excited to host a Community Night, a wonderful opportunity for our Parish and School families to come together for an evening of fun and fellowship!

Saturday, March 14th  4:30-8:30PM   Parish Life Center (gym)    Free Admission

There will be activities for both adults and children, including:

  • Open volleyball (just for fun and fellowship!)

  • An inflatable obstacle course for kids

  • Coloring and games in the cafeteria

  • Food available (either a food truck or volunteers grilling)

Please note: All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children may not be dropped off for this event. . We look forward to seeing you there and spending time together as one OLG community!

Join us for a Parent Shadow Day on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 7:30 to 11 AM. The day is open to all parents of future Royals...not just 8th grade parents. •  COLORWALK Update - THANK YOU so much to all our families for your donations and the parents who volunteered that day! We flew way over our goal, raising $6,000 (before expenses / prize costs)!  We had about 50% of our students participating, with these top families pushing us over our goal: Schnell, Carney, Floyd / Boehler, Drufke, Haddix, Henry, Moran-Venegas, and Newland (thank you for your generosity!).  We will be spending the money on the new Playground Renovation!

This 2025-2026 School Class has an amazing attitude towards generosity, sharing, and caring for each other. Students were respectful during the 8th graders’ skit (which was AMAZING!), they were seen helping each other and supporting each other during the walk, and they were caught with the biggest smiles at the end!

PRIZES - Celebration Day is next Thursday (10/23/25)! EVERYONE is invited to come to school in Pajamas (school appropriate, please); over 150 students will get an ice cream treat after lunch; and 36 students are getting a Free-Fast-Food lunch! Since we raised so much more than expected, we will be giving everyone a popsicle too! If you would like to help distribute these goodies from 10:45 - 12:45pm, email Carrie at mahinzzz@gmail.com.
