• No School on Friday, February 16 - Teacher professional day.

• No School on Monday, February 19 - Presidents’ Day.

• OLG Spirit Day is Thursday, February 8th. Students may wear an OLG shirt, t-shirt, sweatshirt, or sports jersey this day. Students will wear uniform pants or plaids.

• Sam’s Fight shirts can be worn this Friday (with uniform bottoms) and every Friday from now until the end of the year.

• Cookies - There will be no Wednesday cafeteria cookies during Lent, starting next week on Ash Wednesday, February 14th.

• K- Gr 3 Fabulous Fairytale STEM Night - K - grade 3 students will experience the first ever Fairy Tale STEM night on Thursday, 2/22/24 from 5 pm to 7 pm in the school cafeteria. Pizza, drinks, and dessert will be available for a freewill donation. Come when you can, leave when you need, and enjoy STEM time with your family during the in-between. • Penny Wars - There was such an outpouring of generosity and class spirit during our Penny Wars. The Sisters of Providence, Catholic Charities, OLG Food Pantry, and Archdiocese of the Military will each receive their fair-share portion of the $3632.26 raised. Thank you to everyone for clearing out piggy banks, couch cushions, car consoles, wallets, and catch-alls to make this happen!

• Scavenger Hunt Family Winners - During CSW, our "families" participated in a school-wide scavenger hunt.

• 2023 Income Tax Returns - In order for families to qualify for School Choice scholarships, commonly referred to as vouchers, the State of Indiana requires proof of income. Your 2023 Federal Income Tax 1040 is the best and preferred way to demonstrate your family's adjusted gross income. We highly recommend that you submit this information as soon as possible. • Valentine's Day Snack Gram - Friendship is in the air! Help support the 2024 OLG Middle School Washington D.C. trip by sending someone you care about a Valentine's Day Snack Gram. There are no limits on how many you can send. Please send in $1 for each snack gram and circle either Goldfish or Pretzels. Please have snack grams and money turned into your homeroom teacher by February 9th. The order form is here .

• It's Butter Braid time!! Order forms have been handed out and there are more in the office. Forms are due and the online store closes on February 19th. This is a great way for your student to earn funds toward the DC trip, as the product is delicious and sells itself. The braids will be delivered on Friday, March 8th, and must be picked up no later than 4 pm. If your child would like to sell online, email Anne McGee (lilmamacita07@hotmail.com) with your student's name, homeroom teacher, and the best email address and phone number.

We will have a table in the entryway of church to sell at the masses on February 10th, 11th, 17th, and 18th. If your child would like to sell at one of the masses, please email Ms. McGee. If your child sells at mass, they are responsible for delivering the product.

• Yearbook Cover Contest- How would you like to design the yearbook cover? Now is your chance!! Students in grades 4-8 can enter an original design for a chance to have their artwork featured on the front cover of our OLG 2023-2024 yearbook. Use your imagination and creativity to come up with a unique design to represent our school and take a front row seat on the yearbook! Just follow these instructions and get designing!!

What: OLG 2023-2024 Yearbook Cover original artwork design.

Who: Any OLG student in grades 4-8.

When: Start now!! All entries due Wednesday March, 13th 2024.

Theme: Your original artwork should be centered around our theme for this school year, “I Will Live My Life For You” and the words should be included somehow.

• Celebrate Romance February 10, 2024 at 6:30-11:00 PM - Each February, couples of all ages gather for an evening filled with dinner, laughter, dancing, & door prizes. With a little bit of romance and a whole lot of fun, this is always an evening to remember!
