School News

  • OLG Spirit Day is Thursday, December 14th. Students may wear an OLG shirt, t-shirt, or sports jersey with uniform pants, or plaids this day, while adhering to the guidelines in the school handbook.

  • Christmas Program – Please join us on Tuesday, December 19th at 1:30pm or 6:00pm in Madonna Hall for our Christmas Program. The program will feature grades K-3, grades 6-8 Choir, and 5-8 band.

  • Attention all children grades 2-5: The 4pm Christmas Eve Mass on Sunday, December 24th will include the Children’s Choir. There will be 2 rehearsals: Saturday, December 14th and Saturday, December 23rd from 9am-10am in the church. Please enroll by sending an email to jeffhavens@olgreenwood.org. We hope to have a large choir!

  • Re-enrollment for the 2024-2025 School Year – January marks the beginning of our school’s re-enrollment process. On January 17th, each current OLG School family will receive re-enrollment paperwork. The deadline for this simple process is January 31st. After that time, open enrollment begins. Look for additional information to come in the following weeks.

  • OPT-In for SMS Texts – You can now opt-in to receive SMS text messages from OLG School through School Messenger. In this way, we can quickly contact you in case of unexpected school closures, delays, or other situations.

    Simply text YES or Y to 67587. Note: data rates may apply. Check with your wireless plan to see what that means for you. You can opt-out at any time by texting STOP.

  • Cereal Boxes – In anticipation of the 100th day of school (January 24, 2024), the second grade is collecting full sized boxes of cereal for a presentation extraordinare that day! So while you are out shopping, please think about picking up a box and sending it in to school. The cereal will be donated to the OLG Food Pantry afterwards.

  • Christmas Break begins at 3:00 dismissal on Friday, December 22nd. Classes resume on Monday, January 8th, 2024.

  • Mark your calendars for February 22nd and the Fabulous Family Fairy Tale STEM Night! Grades K-3. From 5:00pm-7:00pm. Food and Fun! More details as the date nears.

  • Good Luck to our Boys Basketball Teams! Congrats to our 3rd grade Lady Eagles for a fun season! And many congrats to all our Blacklight Lady Volleyball players and all the bling they brought home!

  • CLASS COMPETITION – be the winners!! The class participation competition takes place now through December 18th!! The class with the highest % of family participation will earn an extra recess and snack break!! *Note: One family order will count for each student in the family. Sign your SCRIP agreement (English and Spanish) and funds can be used for tuition, lunch accounts, and/or aftercare! Get Grandparents, Godparents and friends involved, too!

  • Holiday Family Fun Fest – See the attached flyer for this free event December 14th at the Head Start building in Franklin. There will be games, prizes, and a meal. All FREE!

  • Mark Your Calendars for OLG Trivia Night – OLG Trivia Night is coming up. Join us for an evening of fun and friendship on Saturday, January 20. Tables of 8-10 friends (old or brand new) answer questions as a team. No pressure… no one’s put on the spot. There will be 10 categories with 10 questions per category. Cost is $25.00 per person which includes food, drinks and fun. More details to come!

  • FROM INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (IDOH): Annual Statewide Needs Assessment – Hoosiers are asked to respond to the annual IDOH Statewide Needs Assessment by Friday, December 15. The survey is available in both Spanish and English, and asks about the health and wellness of individuals, families, and their communities. Anyone living in Indiana over the age of 18 can take the survey and participants will have the chance to win gift cards for their participation. This is the best way for Hoosiers to let IDOH know their most important health needs. IDOH will use the identified findings to inform its work and priorities for the next Maternal and Child Health strategic plan. The survey is available here. Please distribute widely with your network and community, and consider sharing this information at upcoming events, via newsletters, or through social media.

    Who: Parents/Guardians and their current 8th grader who is interested in attending Roncalli High School next year

    Where: Roncalli Auditorium

    What You Will Learn: We will discuss Roncalli’s curriculum of courses, and you will have the opportunity to go to classrooms to speak with teachers regarding different elective courses.
