School News
• Snow Make-Up E-Learning/Packet Days - will be Friday, January 17 and Friday, February 14. We will not be at school in person these two days. Teachers will set up e-learning or send packets home with students beforehand and will be available for a set time during these days. Teachers will communicate their plans with their homerooms as the time arrives.
• 2025-2026 School Year Re-Registration - January marks the beginning of our school's re-enrollment process. On January 15th, each current OLG School family will receive re-enrollment paperwork…one packet per family. The deadline for this simple process is January 31st to hold your spot. After that time, open enrollment begins.
• Cereal Boxes - In anticipation of the 100th day of school (January 23rd, 2025), the second grade is collecting cereal boxes for a presentation extraordinare that day! We need full and unopened cereal boxes to make our 100th day domino line. All cereal boxes that are brought in will be donated to the OLG food pantry when we are done. We ask that you bring in the boxes by Thursday, January 23rd. Thank you from the 2nd Grade Team!
• Second Quarter Report Cards Now Available for K through Grade 8 - Login to your PowerSchool account to access your student's report card.Forgot your login? Need to set up your account? Email Jan McManus at jmcmanus@ol-g.org or John Jester at jjester@ol-g.org for assistance.
• Sign Up to Receive Text Messages - If you would like to receive SMS messages from Our Lady of the Greenwood School, please text Y to 67587. Of course, standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier or cellular plan. We will only send SMS messages for important things such as school closures, school delays, or other timely events. Your cell phone number must be in our PowerSchool database in order for this to work. If you are unsure about the correct phone number, please reach out to Mrs. McManus at jmcmanus@ol-g.org.
• Gather the Shoes - Please bring your old/new/used/any shoes to the collection boxes by the gym doors. The Washington, D.C. group is collecting them as a fundraiser. Shoes will be collected January through March.
• Parents’ Night Out will be Friday, February 14th from 6-9pm in the OLG Gym/Cafeteria. Drop off your child(ren) for a night of activities and fun! Cost is $30 for 1 child and $10 per additional child). Snack and water will be provided. Please see the attached flyer here and scan the QR code to RSVP.
• Help Spread the Word - Final Call - Families who live in the 46217, 46227, 46237, 46143, and 46184 areas, would you please consider placing a NOW ENROLLING sign in your yards? Our students come from 20 different zip codes, but the aforementioned five areas have the largest draws. Just by completing this easy form https://forms.gle/sfN6fAPe22zBTuYr9, you can have a yard sign placed in your yard in the middle of January! How about THAT?! Be special! Be unique! Be one of the 40 yards to receive a sign!
• Purse BINGO - Donations Needed - Please consider purchasing a designer purse or suitable items for basket raffles for our Designer Purse BINGO (License #002041) which is Wednesday., April 30, 2025. Contact Jan McManus at 463-277-2030 or jmcmanus@ol-g.org if you have a new item you would like to donate. She will make arrangements with you to get the item(s).
• Fourth Annual Formal Lunch - On Friday, January 31st, our students will experience the fourth annual Formal Lunch in their honor. The kids come dressed in their best, and the adults serve them! • OLG Trivia Night -
Saturday, January 25, 2025…Doors open at 6:30 p.m…Trivia at 7:15 p.m…OLG PLC
If you are hip to meeting friends, having fun, and supporting a great cause, you’re in luck! Even if you’re not great at trivia, that’s okay…… Tables of 8-10 friends (old or brand new) answer questions as a team. No pressure… no one’s put on the spot. There are 10 categories with 10 questions per category. Cost is $25.00 per person which includes food, drinks and fun. No outside alcohol, please. Come with a team or join a team and make new friends. Please register early so we know how many to expect!

• Good Luck to our boy basketball players who start play-offs next week! And a HUGE Thank You to our lady cheerleaders for their amazing EAGLE SPIRIT!
• Boys Volleyball (4th - 8th Grade) - EVALS will be on Monday, January 27th (times to be announced). If you have any interest in playing, please attend to help us form teams and find coaches! The games usually start in March - April, overlapping with CYO Soccer / Track and other spring sports. Email athletics@ol-g.org if you need help or have questions!

• Free Throw Championship - Knights of Columbus Council #6138 is sponsoring the Free Throw Championship for boys and girls ages 9 to 14 to provide an athletic outlet and encourage the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition. Kids compete within their own gender and age, and progress from local level to district, regional and state/province competition.
