School News

•  A Special Thanks to the OLG School Children from Hearts for Haiti - Our Lady of the Greenwood School held Penny Wars during Catholic Schools Week in late January to raise funds for OLG Hearts for Haiti, St. Vincent DePaul, and the OLG Food Pantry. The students raised over $5100, total, with each Ministry receiving $1,722.67 from the collection!! What a wonderful example of stewardship and helping those in need. Thank you to the children and their parents, and to the school teachers and administration. We appreciate you!

•  Three  Things Thursday is Thursday, February 27th.  Students may come to school out of uniform this day (while adhering to the guidelines in the school handbook) in exchange for a donation to OLG’s St. Vincent de Paul ministry.  SVDP is low on funds for assistance now due to increased need and is grateful for any donations.

•  Chess club for 2nd - 5th grades will conclude for the year in March and there will be no chess club meetings after spring break.

•  Riedman-Hunter Scholarship - Each year, the PTO awards three (3) $500 scholarships to graduating 8th graders who are planning to attend Roncalli High School.  Application forms and criteria were handed out last week and are due no later than Thursday, March 20th.  Additional applications can be found via all 8th graders' emails, as well as in Mrs. Davis' 8th Grade Google Classroom.
